Luis Gago
Luis is a medical student in the Feinberg Class of 2026, and is originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, currently residing in Chicago, IL. He attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he earned a BSI in Information with a focus in Information Analytics. At the University of Michigan, Luis used his background in Information Analytics to explore how machine learning practices lead to more effective health related initiatives in under-resourced and underrepresented communities in and around Detroit. After graduating, Luis worked as a software engineer, a research coordinator for the University of Michigan and Northwestern Medicine, and as an intern at the Medical Organization for Latino Advancement. He hopes to use his experiences with Second Opinions to impact the lives of Chicago’s underrepresented patient population in a large-scale manner, learn about the health care system, and become a better advocate of health equity through the lens of data science. In his free time, Luis enjoys reading, playing chess, and crochetting.
